Virupaksha (2023)- Review

Starring: Sai Dharma tej, Samyuktha Menon
Directed by Kartik Dandu

Theme

The Movie is set in the backdrop of the 1990s, in a village named Rudravanam. Surya (Sai Dharam Tej), visits his ancestral village along with his mother on the occasion of Temple Jathara and to give away their ancestral land for Village School. While at the village, he falls in love witht he daughter of the Sarpunch( Samyuktha Menon).

There after the village experiences Sudden mysterious events, and people start dying. The Reason for the deaths and How Sai Dharam Tej tries to protect the village and his lady love forms the basis of the story.

Sai Dharam Tej, struggled hard to perform in the movie, where as Samyuktha Menon performed her tole with ease. The Director tried to pull the movie, but the story didn’t have that traction points to make it interesting.

The DoP has did his job with some good shots in the forest.

Over All

A simple story/ plot stretched too far, unless you are a die hard fan of Chiru family, u can watch it on OTT.

I give it a 2/5
